The Theatre and Gymnasium at the RAAF accomodation area February 1947. The base swimming pool was located behind this building. This theatre hall was later moved into Oakey to become the local picture theatre in the main street.

This photo is taken at the rear of the engine runup stands.
Airplane engine testing unit Oakey. There would be four engines checked here at the one time. They would be run at 3000RPM and if I remember crrectly for 100hrs without a break. They were monitored full time from a supposedly sound proof room. The noise outside was unbelievable.
